Enrolments
Whittlesea Secondary College has the following stages in the process for students enrolling.
Please contact the College for an Expression of Interest form.
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria. Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.
For more information, you can:
- visit School zones for answers to frequently asked questions
- call the School Provision and Establishment Division via the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) on 1800 896 950
- email the VSBA at vsba@education.vic.gov.au
Stage One
You are required to complete and return the Expression Of Interest Form documentation:
Your application will not proceed to Stage Two until we have received all above documentation.
Students are enrolled at the college by the following criteria:
- students for whom the school is the designated neighbourhood government school
- students who no longer live locally, that have a sibling at the same permanent residence who is attending the school at the same time.
- students seeking enrolment on specific curriculum grounds, where it is not provided by the student’s nearest government school
- All other students are prioritised by how close their permanent residence is to the college.
Stage Two
When we have received all the above documentation your application will be forwarded to the relevant staff member to ascertain if we have space at the appropriate levels. The number of vacancies varies significantly in each year level, therefore we will try to accommodate your child where possible.
The College accepts enrolment applications at the start of the year and in some circumstances midyear at the semester change. Year 12 applications are considered for the start of the year. It is extremely rare for Year 12 students to be enrolled during the year, unless they have moved into our local school area.
Stage Three
Once you have confirmation of your place at the College you can organise to attend a tour.
Simply contact the General Office to find out when the next tour will be running.
