Year 7 Tennis and Volleyball

Our newest cohort had their first interschool sports competition when we hosted volleyball at our recreation centre. A full boys and girls team were very excited when they entered the nine team round robin.

Our boys came out hard early winning the opening two games against volleyball power houses Lalor and Lalor North. The next game against new district school Mernda resulted in a draw. Our strength was our serving where we were able to place winners time and time again. However consecutive losses in close games left us  finishing in 5th place, still a great result.

Our girls were more successful. They were triumphant in every game winning comfortably, with other schools not putting up much of a fight. Krislon Sua and Dakota Lister were the two best performers who set up countless winners on the day. However, a final match against Hazel Glen saw us fall agonisingly short and finishing up runners up.  A fantastic achievement.

Our youngest tennis side competed in their first competition at Whittlesea tennis courts in what was a tough day. The team had a positive start with Tori Voss winning her opening game seeded at number 2 with ease. However, this is where the fun stopped with our young and inexperienced team losing consecutive matches for the rest of the competition. Fantastic sportsmanship was shown on the day with our students enjoying their first competition out representing the school.
