On ANZAC day this year, representatives from our Student Leadership team were privileged to march in the ANZAC Day Parade in Whittlesea. Our school captains Flyn Atwood-McInnes and Deanna Berry, along with student leaders Mitchell Allen and Rachael Oh, read out the names of the soldiers from Whittlesea who lost their lives in WW1. Kirsty Lord of Year 12 read the requiem beautifully. As always, the group did a wonderful job of representing the school at this meaningful event.
Student Leadership Training Day
On Thursday 28 April, our 24 student leaders had a great day in the Loft for their annual Student Leadership Training Day. We began the morning with some ‘getting to know you’ games, and then spent an hour with the crew from Baseline conducting a Youth Forum on the local area. For the second half of the day, we were lucky enough to have Graeme Hyman from Queensland come and talk to us about the importance of Student Leadership being “More than just a Badge”. The messages the students took away from this seminar is that it is absolutely okay to be yourself and to focus on your talents, and that even the smallest act of kindness can change someone's life.
