On June 13 we re-opened the Library in a new space. The old library was purpose built about 30 years ago and it was warm, spacious and had 2 classroom areas as well as study area. Our “new “library is converted classrooms with 1 classroom area, 1 small study area and a smaller collection of books.

So which is better and which do you prefer?

Ms Linda Kolevas (Teacher Librarian)

I prefer the new library. Known affectionately by the Principal as a Boutique Library and I would have to agree. Small but attractive. The collection has eye-catching, contemporary books as well as some new shelving, new carpet and new furniture. Students are enjoying the comfort of the bean bags and cushions. We have laptop computers available for use within the library and classes are still timetabled in the classroom area. More importantly we have the same welcoming, friendly service. At lunchtimes we regularly have 40 students busy playing UNO, chess, doing school work, playing computer games, talking, socialising and reading. The library serves many purposes. If you are not sure what to read, ask us to recommend a book. Everyone is welcome, come and visit.

Open continuously from 8.00 am  until 4.00pm.
