Doctors in Secondary Schools

We are very excited to announce that we are one of 20 schools in Victoria selected to be part of the Doctors inSecondary Schools initiative, which means that, starting in term 2, we will have a General Practitioner (GP)with a Practice Manager, working from our own fit-for-purpose building, one day per week.

Intermediate Girls Cricket Sports Report

Our Year 9 Girls were the first team to reach the Northern Metropolitan Round in 2017 for Intermediate Cricket. A very excited team ventured out to Donath Reserve to take on a tough pool to be named the best in our Region.

Out of our three games, we were victorious in our first against Montmorency, who were virtually non-existent against our consistent bowling and sharp fielding.

Senior Boys Tennis

Our Senior Boys Tennis team went in as hot favourites in our Whittlesea Division Round at Lalor tennis courts in what was wet and miserable conditions. This current team made the finals of Regionals in 2016 and we started our quest to go one step better with a bang.

In what was nothing short of a complete dominant display of tennis, Whittlesea defeated other schools in a near perfect display, dropping only 2 games in the entire competition, an amazing feat.

VET Hospitality

As part of our 2nd year VET Hospitality workplace training, students were able to utilise their skills and volunteer their time at Fare Share.
Fare Share provides meals for homeless and disadvantaged people of Victoria. On the day students prepared and cooked 1100 sausage rolls, packed and labelled 1000 quiches, lined 900 quiche dishes with pastry and chopped 120kg of capsicums all in a 3 hour period.

Hands on Learning

The Hands on Learning (HOL) students have been really busy all term. Two of their recent projects were tie dying their own shirts and painting the tiered concrete blocks at the Whittlesea Skate Park so it was ready for our Indigenous students to paint their art designs on Wednesday 8th March.

Chloe, Jake and Callum are with the City of Whittlesea Youth Development Officers, Hans Gregory (Skate Park portfolio) and Rex Taylor (Aboriginal portfolio).

Year 9 Girl's Cricket

Our Year 9 Girls took on Lalor on our home ground at Whittlesea Secondary College Oval in hot conditions on the first day of autumn for the year.

Many of our girls were new to the game but the enthusiasm in training was outstanding, which meant the day was always going to be a fun one.
