Inter Girls Football

Our Intermediate Girls Football team ventured out to Northcote for their Regional Finals for 2017. This was a great achievement in the first place winning our division, and the girls were happy to be a part of a prestigious round of football.

We had a tough fixture, playing Montmorency in our opening game. In windy conditions it was a low scoring affair. Our girls were gallant but went down by 2 goals in a close game.

VET Sport and Recreation

On Tuesday 20th June, Sport & Recreation students took part in an exercise program called IVET #40. IVET #40 is a functional training session that allows students to explore different aspects of the fitness industry in a hands on way. The students worked hard throughout the 40 minute session and were glad to hear the final whistle. Stations included a tyre pull, stair climb, medicine ball throw and sandbag carry.

Look what’s happening in VET Hospitality

We had a very busy 2nd term in VET Hospitality.
Our 2nd year students invited a teacher to a sit down lunch served in our Café as part of their work placement requirements. This situation simulates a working commercial kitchen environment with ‘real customers’, it also provides positive relationships amongst students & staff.

HOL Pizza Lunch

Our Hands on Learning Students prepared and cooked pizzas for a get together with current and past HOL students and Baseline Youth Services staff. The event was held as a BIG THANK YOU to the Baseline Management and Youth Support Officers for their support of our HOL students and program for the past 3.5 years. They will move on to support new HOL programs in other schools in the City of Whittlesea. The College are extremely grateful for their huge contributions to the support and development of our students and our HOL program.

Students studying Visual Communication Design learn about the various fields of design. For this task students learnt about architecture and created a house using the computer program, ‘Google Sketch Up’. Students were then required to create a layout that highlighted their design.

Raising funds for MND Victoria

As part of Brayden Passmore’s VCAL project he held a Students vs Teachers basketball match and an Ice Bucket Challenge. Mr Hiho, Mr Bumpstead and Mr Omizzolo were kind enough to get dunked for the worthy cause!  The two events were a great success raising $167.05 for MND Victoria.

Cake Design Brief

In Year 10 Café Culture students complete a project called the Cake Design Brief. Students use the design process to select, produce and evaluate an iced and decorated butter cake. These are some of the fantastic results.

Year 11 Macbeth Incursion

As part of their study of the Shakespearean play ‘Macbeth’, Year 11 VCE students attended a performance and discussion session hosted by the Bell Shakespeare Company. The production allowed students to analyse key scenes through performance and gain a better understanding of the key themes and ideas of the play. A big congratulations to the students who volunteered their acting expertise and joined in on some of the performance!
