Year 12 Psychology: Animal Training

The Year 12 Psychology group had an incursion with an animal trainer from the Melbourne Zoo recently. Our presenter Laura runs a program called Dog Therapy, where she discusses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and its applications.

In the session she consolidated the key terms and concepts of Operant Conditioning that the students had been learning in class with real life animal training examples. Operant conditioning can be described as a process that attempts to modify behaviour through the use of positive and negative reinforcement.

Year 7 Football Team

Recently the Year 7 Football team took part in the 2015 District Winter Sports Competition at Mill Park Lakes Reserve.

The boys' first game was against Mill Park Secondary College. We had the breeze in the first half and put the score on the board early, putting the pressure on Mill Park to do the same in the second half. Whittlesea continued to score well against the wind and ran away with the win.
